Case details:

Arrested on September 7, 2011, Ms. Wang Mingrong died from severe physical abuse around September 17, only ten days after being taken into custody.  She passed away at the Xinjin Brainwashing Center (euphemistically referred to as the Chengdu City Law Education Center), an institution known to lace food with psychotropic drugs meant to severely damage the central nervous system.

Agents from the Jinniu District 610 Office have exerted great pressure on Ms. Wang’s family to keep the news of her death and mistreatment quiet. One witness reported that Ms. Wang went on hunger strike, but was violently beaten and force-fed. At the time of death, an eyewitness who saw her body reported it was overed in bruises. Her remains were cremated on September 23.

At least four other practitioners are known to have died at the Xinjin Brainwashing Center and three others to have suffered mental collapse.
